Hey there!
I can’t believe how quickly the past month has gone by, in fact, I can’t believe how quickly the past few months have gone by. So many things have changed, I have changed, people have change. But change is a good thing, I like when things evolve, I enjoy excitement, I don’t want time to stand still. Over the past month I have realised that I do not want to remain talking only about food on this blog, I know, I am Fanny, the foodie and don’t worry I am going to stay Fanny, the foodie, I mean how could I ever stop loving food? Exactly, I can’t! However, there are lots of other things I like to talk about as well. Some might be superficial, some more profound, we’ll see.
For today’s post I want to introduce a new category to my blog: My monthly favourites, there might be food involved, there might be books involved, maybe I’ll talk about activities or events that took place. And if you do not happen to care about any of that stuff, then by all means, see ya next time, I am sure there will be another recipe post soon.
So let’s start. January, the first month of the year, is gone already. Though what did I enjoy, what did I do and first and foremost like all month?
I guess I amgoing to start with food as this is still mainly a food blog:
1. Banana bread, banana muffins, anything baked with bananas.
2. Pecans, they’re just really aesthetic on pictures, ok?! Though they taste pretty amazing as well.
3. Chia pudding, I just like chia pudding. I have it plain, on top of things, for brekkie, as a snack. Chia all day, everyday!
My fourth favourite is another somewhat food related one:
4.Jaime Oliver’s new cook book “Every Day Superfood”, AMAZING pictures! Yes, I buy cook books for the sake of looking at the pictures, I am weird like that.. I literally never follow the recipes but I looooove looking at pictures in cook books. I could do it for hours and hours and hours and hours and… ok I’ll stop now. Moving on…
Let’s continue with the non-food related stuff now:
5. My blue beenies by COS cause it was freezing this month and I hate being cold. Plus I like the look of them.
6. The Exurbe nail polishes I got for Christmas, they’re actually also vegan, which is sort of cool.
7. Freitag agenda, yep I’m one of those old-fashioned people who still write their appointments into a paper agenda. I just can’t handle having all my appointments on my phone, it confuses me and I forget things. This Freitag one is not only super pretty, but it is also extremely practical and you can actually just refill it every year, so from now on I won’t need to worry about buying a new agenda at the beginning of anew year.
8. The forest of my town. I started really appreciating living on the countryside as I rediscovered my passion for going on runs or walks in the forest. And as I literally know that forest like the back of my hands I can also just change my routes at any time.
9. Going to the movies. I haven’t been to the movies in ages, however this month I went a few times and I actually really enjoyed it. And here’s a quick movie recommendation if you want to watch something different from the ordinary Hollywood plot : An- Red Bean Paste, just a beautiful film, I loved it!
10. Being on holidays… Yes I know, you’re probably thinking a you lazy student, you. Though I have actually been working for my blog A LOT, which I enjoyed as it is a nice change from uni life.
11. Music: I rediscovered Miike Snow’ s music. I havent’ listened to them in ages yet then I somehow came across on of their newer songs: Genghis Khan and I just fell in love with their music all over again. I’ve also been loving anything by Young the Giant, 7 Years by Lukas Graham, anything by Max Herre, Haim, Max Frost and Odesza. I could seriously continue for days with adding music reccomendations as I listen to a very wide variety of music. I might actually write a post about music in the feature, we’ll see. Quick reccomendation for all you Italy fans out there: Neri Per Caso, accapella at its finest, I have been listening to their music ever since I can remember!
I think that’s it for now. I can’t think of anything else I have been loving last month that could be of any interest for you. Oh, wait, one thing, I actually really enjoyed reading the Great Gatsby, I had to read it for uni but surprisingly I didn’t mind it. I usually start hating a book as soon as I am forced to read it… Great condition to study literature, good on you Fanny for just realising that. Anyways, let’s not drift into non-sense ramble.
Enjoy the last day of the month and have a wonderful start into February.
Bisous
