Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate – vegan Truffles

Dezember 17, 2015 By fannythefoodie 2 Comments

Hey there!

So as some of you might know, I’m in the middle of my exams. Yet, I really wanted to share this recipe before Christmas so you could recreate it for your loved ones (or for yourself). So just for once I am not going to include a long story about why and how I came up with this recipe, I am just sharing it with you. Just for once.

Here you go:

3 types of dark chocolate truffles:

  • 200g cacao butter
  • 3/4 cup cacao
  • 3tbs agave
  • 2 coconut oil
  • 90ml coconut milk
  • 15g slivered almonds, chopped
  • ½ tsp freeze dried orange peel
  • 15g sesame seeds
  • 15g tahini
  • ½ cinnamon
  • ½ ginger
  • additional sesame seeds and cacao powder

  1. Melt together the cacao butter, cacao powder, agave, coconut oil and the coconut milk by placing it in a bowl and place the bowl on a pan with boiling water.
  2. When your mixture has melted completely split it into three parts and add the slivered almonds and orange to one third, the sesame seeds and tahini to the next one and the cinnamon and ginger to the last one.
  3. Let the mixtures cool down in the fridge. When the mixture has cooled down completely roll your mixtures into equally sized truffles and roll them in sesame seeds or cacao powder.

Tip: I suggest you to occasionally stir the mixtures while they are  setting in the fridge as they can seperate.

White chocolate truffles:

  • 100g cacao butter
  • 25g cashew, chopped
  • ½ vanilla bean
  • 4tbs coconut milk +60ml
  • 2 coco oil
  • 3 agave
  • ¼ cup quinoa puffs
  • additional quinoa puffs or cacao powder
  1. Melt together the cacao butter, agave, coconut oil and the coconut milk by placing it in a bowl and place the bowl on a pan with boiling water.
  2. Stir in the cashews and the quinoa puffs.
  3. Let the mixture cool in the fridge. When the mixture has cooled completely roll it into equally sized truffles and roll them in cacao powder or puffed quinoa. IMG_0788.jpg

Voila, that’s it. I know there is quite a bit of effort involved, but trust me people, it is so worth it. And you can even play with the amount of agave and spices you add or just mix it up completely according to your preferences. Anyways, I’m off, I am actually sitting in the library right now trying to study. So I guess I’, going to continue now, wish me luck.
