I think I discovered a new hobby, it’s called granola making and I do it at least once a week. You’re probably thinking why make granola if you can buy it. Well, first off, homemade granola tastes so much better, secondly it’s way cheaper, thirdly it doesn’t contain any nasty ingredients (and if it does you purposely added them) and last but not least you can make whatever flavour you fancy. Tahini vanilla, coconut cinnamon or the ultimate one, brownie choc crunch granola. Sounds amazing, right? And guess what there’s actually no bad stuff going in there. Plus it tastes like granola heaven especially soaked in some yummylicious plantbased milk. And the best thing is the cereal milk your left with tastes just like chocolate milk. So you get choc granola plus choc milk in one go, I mean could it get any better? There’s chocolate, there’s crunch, there’s amazing deliciousness. What else do you need? Nothing, I know. Your life will be fulfilled after eating this.
Well, calm down Fanny, stop exaggerating. It really does taste amazing though, it might not fulfil your life, but I mean it’s just food, so what did you expect. And, you know, sometimes a delicious meal with the greatest people can actually be one of the best things in life. So people, get yourself off the screen, make some granola and invite your best friends for a granola breakfast sesh. Whether you’re in the best state of your life or your feeling a little down a gathering with your loved ones, some yummy food and good chats, is always a good idea.
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ¼ cup quick oats
- 3 tbs cacao nibs
- ¼ cup ground hazelnuts
- 2 tbs coconut sugar*
- 1tbs tahini
- 1tbs coconut oil
- 2 tbs cacao
- 1 banana
- Preheat your oven to 150°C.
- Add the two varieties of oats, cacao nibs, ground hazelnut and coconut sugar into a mixing bowl.
- Process the tahini, the coconut oil, cacao powder and the banana in a food processor until smooth.
- Pour the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Spread onto a lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. I like to occasionally stir the mixture around so it bakes evenly.
- After 20 minutes remove the granola from the oven and let it cool completely.
- Store in an airtight jar. I personally don’t know how long this lasts but as we are three people who love granola in my house it’s usually gone within a week…
Voila, delicious crunchy chocolaty granola, heavenly! I love granola in general and I make it at least once a month, but this is definitely one of the best ones I’ve made. It sort of tastes like brownies and soaked in some delicious plant-based milk, AMAZING! Little suggestions for all my Swiss readers, try this with the new hazelnut milk by coop, best thing on earth, trust me!

*if you like really sweet granola, I suggest you to double the added coconut sugar, I personally find it very sweet with just 2 tablespoons, but I prefer things to be not overly sweet

This looks sooooo good. I love granola so much but I’m always wary of the supermarket ones because of the amount of sugar they jam into it. I personally find it sweet enough as it is without any artificial sweeteners. I’ll definitely add this to my list of things to make in the future!
